Patient of the Month

Rio- Oct 2023

"Rio was rescued as a stray, barely clinging on to life. He'd been attacked and was severely injured and sick. Once we adopted him, he faced a long road to recovery. Miraculously, this little boy not only survived but is absolutely THRIVING.

“His once dull coat is now lustrous. Whereas he once couldn't handle a walk around the block, he now accompanies us on hikes and can run for hours in the backyard. He is full of life, energy, joy, and pure love.

“After some training, he even became my service dog and recently accompanied me on a trip to Florida. There, he had a well-earned vacation sitting by the pool and receiving lots of treats. Rio is my absolute heart, and I feel blessed to have been given the chance to be his mommy.

“Rio has some stiff joints and a deformed elbow. These are conditions he had when I rescued him, and we've been working hard to help him heal and gain better mobility! Rehabilitation has been life-changing! Rio used to barely use his left arm, and now he can do obstacle courses and comfortably put weight on it. Addressing his joint issues has also helped him become more active, comfortable, and happy.
